Implementation of allocation and transfer of catch quota in the new fishing year

New fishing year begins on 1st of September. We encourage parties to familiarize themselves with the implementation of allocations and transfers for the upcoming fishing year.
Allocation
Catch quota will be allocated to vessels that have catch shares in species that follow the fishing year but in shared stocks at the end of the year. Notices about the allocation of catch quotas will be sent to the digital mailboxes of fishing companies on island.is.
Catch quota transfers
The Directorate of Fisheries draws attention to the fact that in the first 15 days of the new fishing year it will be possible to move the catch quota between vessels for both the fishing year that is ending and the fishing year that is beginning.
A fee is charged for the catch quota transfer in accordance with the organization's service fees.
