Displaying of data in digital mailbox - Ísland.is

The Directorate of Fisheries is increasingly using the digital mailbox of Ísland.is when sending documents and notifications to customers of the Directorate of Fisheries.
As of 1st of February 2023, the Directorate of Fisheries will no longer send e-mails with notifications when ships have exceeded their catch quota, these notifications will only be sent to the digital mailbox of operators. All operators will receive such notifications in their digital mailbox on Ísland.is, regardless of whether the operator has a registered e-mail address with Fiskistofa.
In addition, notifications on the granting of a terms for the registration of catch in public fishing tournaments and notifications on cancellation of fishing licences will only be sent to the digital mailbox on Ísland.is.
A piece of data in a digital mailbox is considered to be displayed when it has become available in the recipient's digital mailbox. As of February 1st, the following notifications and communications from the Directorate of Fisheries will only be sent to customers' digital mailboxes:
Correction of fishing fees
Guidelines from the
Information on fishing obligations
Notification of initiation of an administrative case
Decisions on administrative penalties
Notification of correction of catch registration
Notification of fishing fees
Notification of the allocation of ITC
Notification of excess catches and assessments of the fishing year
Notifications of excess catch quota and impositions in coastal fisheries
Guidelines to fishing associations
Notifications of when ships have exceeded their catch quota
Granting of terms for the registration of catches at public fishing rod tournaments
Cancellation of fishing license
The Directorate of Fisheries encourages its customers to keep an eye on the digital mailbox and ensure that the service is activated, which notifies recipients by e-mail if a new document is waiting for them in the digital mailbox.
Integration with mailbox Ísland.is is a major step in digital communication with the customers of the Directorate of Fisheries and reduces paper use in accordance with the environmental goals steps of the Directorate of Fisheries.
