50th Work Anniversary

Today, Guðbjörg E. Ingólfsdóttir, an employee at the Directorate of Fisheries, celebrates her 50th work anniversary.

Guðbjörg E. Ingólfsdóttir, or Gugga as she is commonly known, has today worked in fisheries administration for 50 years. She began her career at the Fisheries Association of Iceland on the 1st of October 1976 and has thus dedicated half a century of her work to the fishing industry and its administration.

Valuable knowledge and reliability

When Gugga's duties were transferred to the Directorate of Fisheries on the 1st of January 1999, she moved with them and has been an integral part of the organisation's operations ever since.

Over the years, Gugga has ensured that catch registration is correct and reliable. She is also known for her exceptional service-mindedness, positive attitude and extensive experience, which has benefited both colleagues and clients of the Directorate of Fisheries. Her career reflects the importance of knowledge, professionalism and continuity in public service.

Job satisfaction still present

Despite her 50-year career, Gugga says it is still enjoyable to come to work and always arrives with a smile on her face. Her positivity and enthusiasm for her work have characterised her career over the years and made her a highly valued colleague.
