In the coming days, the Directorate of Fisheries will grant longline discount for the period of September–November.

Longline discount is determined in Article 3 of Regulation on allocation of catch deducted from the total catch pursuant to Paragraph 5 of Article 8 of the Act on Fisheries Management.

• Longline discount will be granted retroactively, i.e. from 1st of September.

• Longline discount for cod is cancelled as of 13th of October.

• The display of longline discount on the Data Pages may be unusual for the next few days while calculations and corrections are being processed.

• The Directorate of Fisheries reserves the right regarding possible miscalculations of longline discount over the next few days, as the system is calculating the longline discount retroactively for the first time.

The Directorate of Fisheries encourages fishing operators to carefully review the landings for the current fishing year and send comments and requests for corrections to the email address linuivilnun@fiskistofa.is, so that the processing of longline discount for the first period can be completed as soon as possible.
