Several coastal fishers have contacted the Directorate of Fisheries because their coastal fishery catches have mistakenly been registered against their quota. In this regard, we would like to reiterate that if a coastal fishing vessel arrives in port before midnight, the catch is classified as a coastal fishery catch in accordance with the applicable regulations.The Directorate of Fisheries is currently working to correct these registrations.
