The library's main partners are the Blind Society, the Writers' Union, the Film Society, Fibút (the Icelandic Publishers Association), the Association of the Blind, the Association of Teachers, the Association of Literary Education, the Centre for Education and School Services and the secondary schools. The library is also active in foreign collaborations, mainly Nordic collaborations. The libraries have stated in a joint statement that everyone needs access to information and unrestricted opportunities for communication to live independently and participate fully in society. The library is at the heart of its work, creating solutions for people with reading disabilities.

The purpose of the cooperation is to exchange information on the status and progress of various projects, e.g. on technical matters, communication with publishers, service to the beneficiaries and making books accessible.
