Notification of a car/s under taxi operating permit

Holder of a taxi operating permit in accordance with laws and regulation must notify the Icelandic Transport Authority (ICETRA) of cars belonging to the operation of the permit holder. This applies when adding or reducing the number of cars used by the permit holder.

• Taxi that permit holder intends to use in operation has to be in the user category Taxi (Leigubifreið)

• In order to register or deregister a taxi the car has to be taken for an inspection at an inspection station

Please note that it is the permit holder's responsibility that appropriate insurance for taxis are in place and valid at any given time.
