Pro-cutors now connected to the Ísland.is application system

The application system for Ísland.is is now accessible to companies, so when an individual logs in with his/her electronic ID to an application, the system checks if the person also has a power of attorney. The examinee may then choose whether to apply as an individual or a company.

This is done by connecting the Application System of Ísland.is with the Ísland.is Authorisation System hence giving companies access to services through applications on Ísland.is. This support for the Ísland.is Authorisation System will enable companies to give power of attorney to others to obtain public services on behalf of their company from Ísland.is.

The no-debt certificate is the first application to offer this automatic service to companies where it checks automatically if the one who logs in has a power of attorney. In the following months, more applications will support companies in this way, such as the distribution of public debt payments and change of ownership of vehicles and fishing licenses, to name a few.

If an individual is the Procurator Fiscal of a company, but this activity does not appear in, for example, an application for a certificate of indebtedness, the Tax must be contacted to view the company's registration.
