Newsletter August 2025

Digital Iceland newsletter August 2025.

Ticket sales are open for Connecting the State, the annual conference of Digital Iceland. The conference will be held on 18 September 2025 at Hilton Nordica, and it will also be streamed. The conference's theme this year is security and digital leadership during turbulent times, and one of the speakers is Valerya Ionan, an advisor to the Ukrainian government.

There will also be many interesting talks from institutions that have made good progress in their digital journey and digital services. In connection to this year's theme, we will receive messages from the police, the National Electoral Commission, the Courts, Digital Iceland, and others. The meeting will be chaired by Guðmundur Arnar Sigmundsson, director of the cyber security unit CERT-IS.

On the morning of the conference, workshops will be held that focus on service, data & tech, Ísland.is website and the future vision of the digital journey of the public sector. Participation is invite-only, which includes directors, service managers, web managers, technical managers, and data managers of institutions, as well as representatives from the private sector. The goal of the workshops is to have an open conversation about the digital development that lies ahead.

The workshops will be held from 10-12 in the morning and the conference from 13.00-16.30.

Ticket prices for this year are ISK 9,900 and ISK 3,900 in current prices.
