Good staff meeting
Opportunities for increased cooperation between the professional fields and the staff of Lands- og skógar were among the topics discussed at the recently successful staff meeting. One of the topics discussed was how the staff can already use improvisational intelligence to assist with daily work.
The meeting took place in Sjáland, Garðabær, on November 1. According to Ágúst Sigurðsson, Director of Land and Forest Iceland, it was a resounding success. "Given the geographically dispersed nature of our facilities, it was an exceptional opportunity to convene the entire team in one location, making the most of the day's agenda. The day's program reflected our current status as a first-year institution, consolidating the operations of two entities and managing a diverse workforce across the country," as Ágúst explained.
"The day commenced with an update on our progress towards full merger, ten months after our inception. Furthermore, we gained valuable insights into fostering creative collaboration among our units, building a cohesive team, and achieving effective teamwork despite the challenges of remote locations and infrequent in-person interactions. We identified opportunities for enhanced cooperation between professional departments as well as between individuals of the LOGS staff. Additionally, we explored the concept of improvisational intelligence and its potential applications in our daily operations."
The safety and education committees of LOGS presented their work at the meeting, and the rationale for establishing a staff association for the new institution was discussed. The day concluded with a delightful gathering, featuring the inaugural on-stage performance of a newly formed LOGS band.
