Guide to Completing a Cargo Security Declaration

Instructions for Completing Individual Fields in a Cargo Security Declaration

Seal Number and Cargo Security Officer Details

    Seal Number

If the cargo security declaration is for:

    • a loaded container or trailer, enter the seal number. Omit any leading zeros from the seal number and the letter V at the beginning of a wire seal number. To change the seal number on a saved declaration, click the pencil icon in the field and enter the new number. If the company has both bolt seals and wire seals, a window first appears where you select the type of seal. In some cases, changing the seal number means that the container number must be entered again.

    • an empty container or empty containers, do not enter a seal number. For empty containers, the Fleiri button appears. Click the button to add more rows for additional empty containers. The seal number is entered in the same row as the container number, as described in the previous section.

Cargo Security Officer Who Sealed the Container or Supervised the Loading

If the cargo security declaration is for:

    • a loaded container or trailer, select the cargo security officer who sealed the container or trailer.

    • loose cargo or cargo loaded by pump, select the cargo security officer who supervised the loading.

    • an empty container or empty containers, select the cargo security officer who signs and is responsible for the cargo security declaration.

Select the cargo security officer from the drop-down list.
