Lumpfish fishing

• Lumpfish and bycatch must be weighed in the landing port at landing

• When weighing lumpfish roes, the gross weight of the catch should be recorded and the number of barrels or tubs recorded.

• For the conversion of landed lumpfish roes into whole lumpfish, the multiplication factor used is 3,4 minus the weight of barrels/tubs.

• It is important that all marine mammals and birds that come in the lumpfish net are recorded in the catch logbook.

Buyers of lumpfish

Buyers of lumpfish are required to submit weighing and disposal reports (VOR reports), which contain information on the disposal of whelk and roe.
