Icelandic Student Innovation Fund
The student innovation fund awards grants for hiring undergraduate and master’s students for summer work on research and development projects that are considered likely to promote innovation and strengthen collaboration between universities, institutions, and companies.
Description of innovation grants and application
The grant covers student salaries of ISK 340,000 per month, for a maximum of 3 months. The university, research institution, or company provides facilities and covers material costs.
Applications are assessed based on the potential for practical use in industry and the novelty of the knowledge in the relevant academic field.
It is permitted to pay students additional wages and place them on the payroll so they are insured while working.
All applications must be submitted electronically through the Rannís application portal.
