Social Insurance Administration: Children and young adults

Will child support payments stop if the child moves from the legal domicile of the child support recipient?

Child support allowance will only be stopped if:

  • The recipient of the child support requests that the child support be cancelled

  • A new child support agreement/ruling from the District Commissioner or the courts is available

If payments are stopped, both the child support payer and the recipient will receive a letter to that effect.
