Can you apply for a grant to purchase nutritional drinks?
Yes, you can apply for a grant to purchase nutritional drinks, general or specialised, e.g. due to diabetes or kidney failure. A doctor, nutritionist or other healthcare professional assesses the need and sends an application.
The grants are 90% with a maximum amount per month. Maximum amounts of the grants and rules on when they are approved may be found in the regulation of payment participation in nutrition and special diet.
Individuals with approved purchasing authorisation can purchase nutritional drinks/powder at contract price from Fastus ehf. and Icepharma hf. (distributor: Parlogis, Krókháls 14). The benefit to users could be a more advantageous price but it is still allowed to purchase nutritional drinks/powder from other sellers.
