The owner of a vehicle that falls under the kilometer fee is summoned to a certified inspection office in the following cases:

• The recording of the kilometer status has not taken place during the calendar year (1 January - 31 December).

• Other reasons are available that require the vehicle to be read by a certified inspection office, as assessed by the Icelandic Transport Authority or the Icelandic Revenue and Customs.
