From the 1st of July 2024, if a vehicle subject to the kilometer fee is for temporary use in Iceland, a fee must be paid.

It is possible, on the one hand, to pay a daily fee to the hauler, ISK 600 for electricity and hydrogen cars, and ISK 200 for plug-in hybrids.

However, a fee based on kilometer usage can be paid. The position of the odometer is then recorded at arrival and departure and charged in conjunction with use.
