Yes. No kilometer fee shall be paid if:

• Cars that are transported out of the country for a limited time.

As a condition for the exemption, the odometer status is registered when a vehicle is exported to Iceland and when the vehicle is transported back to Iceland, and confirmation is sent to the Iceland Revenue and Customs. The confirmation may be either an import and export declaration or a ticket.

• Registration marks are in the custody of the registry.

As a condition for the exemption, the odometer status shall be registered when the registration plates are returned for storage.
