Foreign citizens, aged 18 and over, can apply for Icelandic citizenship electronically for themselves and their children (under 18) in one application.

Before applying, it is important to familiarize yourself with the following:

• when you can apply for Icelandic citizenship

• what conditions you need to meet

• which documents must accompany the application

• what are the requirements for the documents

The fee for applying for Icelandic citizenship is ISK 25,000.

Only one fee has to be paid even if an application is also made for children.
