No specific educational background is required to hold these roles. However, it is required that the individual has worked at the workplace for at least one year and, through their daily work, has oversight of most of the operations and/or is present during a significant portion of the working hours.

Training courses for safety representatives and safety guards are intended to increase knowledge of occupational health and safety and to provide practical tools to improve the working environment — with the goal of reducing accidents, sick days, and generally promoting well-being in the workplace.
