Administration of Occupational Safety and Health: Courses
Can everyone take the course Service Providers in Occupational Health and Safety?
The program is open to anyone interested in increasing their knowledge of occupational safety and health in the workplace.
Those who seek recognition to provide services in the preparation of plans for safety and health in the workplace in addition need to fulfill further conditions set out in Act on Working Environment, Health and Safety in Workplaces and reglugerð um viðurkenningu þjónustuaðila og sérfræðinga sem veita atvinnurekendum þjónustu við gerð áætlana um öryggi og heilbrigði á vinnustöðum (only available in Icelandic).
The AOSH assesses and grants recognition to those who wish to provide such services.
The condition for recognition is that the person concerned has, in the opinion of the AOSH, sufficient knowledge in the field of health, social sciences, technology or other comparable fields of expertise that is necessary for its employees to be able to assess and respond to hazards or any other discomfort due to ergonomic factors, such as physical, chemical, biological and psychological factors.
It is possible to apply for recognition to the AOSH, which assesses the applicant's knowledge and skills before he or she completes the course. If the applicant meets the legal requirements, he or she can attend the course.
