All submitted applications are evaluated, and grants are announced at least twice a year.
Fræ is a preparation grant to start-up companies or individuals and is suitable for projects at the conceptual stage, or early stages of project development.
Thróunarfræ is a preliminary grant to start-up companies or individuals to allow their undertaking cooperative development projects
Maximum grant is ISK 2 million.
No matching funds are required in this grant category.
A report on the project's results must be submitted within 12 months from day of application.
Who can apply?
For companies under five years old, and individuals.
How to apply
Applications may be made at any time. Submitted applications are evaluated and grant awards are announced at least twice a year.
Submissions are made through the Rannís online application portal.
