Payment participation for disposable assistive devices

Payment participation is 100% and a healthcare professional applies for the purchase authority. In general, no grant is provided for children under 3 years of age.

Grants are granted for the purchase of diapers for urinary and/or faecal leakage in the case of:

• multiple or severe disability

• stroke or significant damage to the central nervous system

• severe retardation

• autism

• alzheimer/dementia

• bladder cancer or prostate cancer

• recurrent or very long-lasting urinary tract infections

• sagging bladder or uterovaginal prolapse that is a significant problem (operation not recommended or not successful)

• elderly people over 70 years of age with severe problems with urinary incontinence

• the result of heavy drug use

• serious problems with urinary incontinence

No grant is provided for:

• effort or stress urinary incontinence without surgery

• small leak

• nocturnal enuresis

• childbirths

• mental illnesses

• arthritis
