Conservation area
A ban on whaling is in effect in certain areas in accordance with the provisions of regulation on the prohibition of whaling in specific areas.
The areas are defined as follows:
A. In Faxaflói Bay within a line drawn between the following points:
64°04.90′ N - 22°41.4′ W (Garðskagi lighthouse).
64°46.60′ N - 22°36.3′ W (Skógarnes).
B. In Eyjafjörður and Skjálfandi Bay within a line drawn between the following points:
66°11.6′ N - 18°49.3′ W (Siglunes lighthouse).
66°17.8′ N - 17°06.8′ W (Lágey).
66°12.4′ N - 17°08.7′ W (Tjörnes lighthouse).
