Service to applicants for international protection

International protection applicants are entitled to legal advocacy services at both lower and higher administrative levels. The advocate's role begins with their appointment and ends with a final decision at the administrative level. Pregnant women should have access to maternity and childbirth care while applicants wait for a response to their protection application. Additionally, children who apply for protection should have the opportunity to study.

The Directorate of Labor offers general services for applicants while their cases are being processed. However, the Directorate of Immigration doesn't offer any residency arrangements for applicants for international protection or other foreigners.

Generally, the right to service shall be suspended eight weeks after the granting of protection, thirty days after the final decision on refusal, or three days after the applicant has withdrawn his/her application.

Law

The legal services for applicants are based on Articles 33 and 23.
