The following drawings must be submitted with a written application for the approval of newbuildings of boats.
General arrangement
showing the vertical and horizontal profile of the boat, where bulkheads and other structures are shown plus engine and other equipment foundations. On the GA plan the engine, fuel tanks, air duct locations etc., must be indicated plus the accommodation arrangement.
Layout drawing
showing doors, windows, emergency exits, hatchways, freeing ports or drainages from decks, rescue ladders, handrails, mooring equipment, navigation lights and fishing lights, life raft locations, etc.
Midship section
with one section fore and one aft, where the scantlings and the hull structure and connections are shown, such as connection of the deck to the shell, the wheelhouse to the deck, etc.
Hatches and hatch covers
with fastenings.
Mast and boom
Engine foundation
and its connection to the hull.
Rudder and rudder equipment
with scantlings, material quality and connection to hull. The rudder arrangement and possibilities for emergency rudder arrangements.
Propeller equipment
Fuel tanks
with its scantlings and material quality. Furthermore, fuel pipes, valves and filters must be shown.
Bilge system
specifying pump efficiency. Valves and filters must be shown.
Seawater piping and valves
Fire protection
where arrangement of fixed extinguishing equipment, placement of CO2 holders and discharge nozzles and arrangement of fire alarm panel and call points are shown. Furthermore, the finishing of stoves and electric radiators must me shown.
Gas equipment
for heating.
Electrical installations
indicating cable structure and area and the size and structure of fuses, batteries, etc. plus density coefficient of electrical installations in various places on board.
Line drawing
It is permitted to have more than one of the above on the same drawing. The Icelandic Transport Authority may require additional drawings, as may be required during the design and finishing process.
