System National ID Numbers – Foreign Parties Registry

Only Icelandic public entities can request a system national ID number for foreign nationals. Applications must be submitted electronically. As part of the application, the Icelandic public entity confirms that a system ID number is required to fulfill some special need. Note that registry on the Foreign Parties Registry is only intended for individuals who reside in Iceland for less than three months (or for Nordic citizens, six months) or are not present in Iceland. The registration confers no rights or privileges in Iceland.
