System ID number for foreign nationals who sit on boards of companies

System ID numbers are issued for the identification of individuals due to short stay in Iceland or other reasons. System ID does not grant any rights.

An application for a system ID number to a foreign citizen for a board seat only covers those who are founders of companies, members of the board, are directors or the power of attorney of companies in Iceland.

The application must be submitted by with other notifications to the Company Register of the establishment of the company or by notification of a change, where the person is being listed as a member of the company.
