Service to refugees at the Directorate of Labour

The Directorate of Labour's counsellors assist individuals who have been granted international protection in Iceland in seeking employment and attending Icelandic courses.

It is the social services of the municipality where the individual lives that send a request for the service of the Directorate of Labour. Individuals do not apply for the service themselves.

  1. The case manager at the social services of the municipality fills out a reference form in consultation with the individual.

  2. After the reference is received, the Directorate of Labour calls the person concerned for an interview.
