Diving is a popular recreational activity and an important professional field in Iceland. It is widely practiced in tourism, for example in Silfra at Þingvellir National Park, but also plays a role in construction work, fish farming, and other underwater operations.

By Act No. 53/2024, temporary authorizations for the use of teleconferencing devices in the conduct of civil and criminal proceedings before a court were made permanent. On November 1st, new guidelines for the judicial administration of the courts on teleconferencing will take effect.
