In celebration of World Mental Health Day on October 10, the staff of the psychiatric day and outpatient unit opened their doors and invited visitors to learn about the department’s work, equipment, and facilities. It is estimated that over one hundred guests visited us on this occasion.

An agreement has been made with Parka Lausnir to collect parking fees from individuals other than clients and staff who use the parking facilities at the Efra-Breiðholt Health Center. The purpose is to ensure available parking spaces for those attending the health center.

Courses for distributors’ representatives (A, B and C) are scheduled for November 4th at The Icelandic Transport Authority, Ármúli 2. Last day to register is Sunday, November 2nd.

In recent years, the Directorate of Health has included statistical information on so-called disciplinary cases in its annual report. These cases may, for example, result in a reprimand, restriction of a professional license, or revocation of such a license. The Directorate intends to continue publishing this information.

The entrance on the north side of Vestmannaeyjar Hospital has reopened after being closed for several months due to construction work. During that time, the area outside the entrance was resurfaced with asphalt and utility lines were replaced.

The registration of odometer readings for petrol and diesel cars has gotten off to a very good start. Around 60 thousand registrations have been received since the new law was passed on December 19.

At the turn of the year, changes to the organizational structure of the National Archives took effect, aimed primarily at streamlining operations and increasing efficiency following the growth in projects and staff.

On Friday, March 1st, the Orators Competition, a legal student’s competition at the University of Iceland, was held at the Supreme Court.

Land and Forest Iceland has now opened for applications to the Land Reform Fund. The application deadline is 1 February.
