It is permitted to temporarily import a vehicle with foreign registration plates into Iceland. In certain cases, import charges may be reduced or fully waived.

A person aged 18-25 may apply for a residence permit if they intend to come to Iceland and work as an au pair for a host family.

The permit is granted to an individual, 67 years or older, who has an adult child in Iceland.
