The Prevention Month Community Approach Symposium will be held at Hotel Grand Reykjavík on Thursday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Yesterday, Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, and Unnur Sverrisdóttir signed an agreement on the Ministry’s funding of ISK 25,000 to the pilot project Roadmap.

Considering the recent spread of monkeypox in Europe, transmission to Iceland is likely and even a small outbreak of parasitic infections.

This is a temporary and limited project that could last for about eight weeks, September-October 2024. This time we will be looking for supporting material for the subjects Icelandic, natural sciences and foreign languages (Danish and English). Project group will be set up for each subject.

In recent weeks, the development and restructuring of the services of the day and walk psychiatric services in SAk has been undertaken. The reforms were thorough and well thought out and included a temporary reduction in the service.

Iceland Health recently conducted a survey of satisfaction and trust among users of healthcare centres in Iceland. The survey is part of the regular monitoring of services provided by Iceland Health on the basis of agreements with the institution. The results are useful for both Iceland Health, health authorities and the healthcare centres themselves for policy making, development and promotion of services.

The Directorate of Health is currently conducting an extensive study into the health and wellbeing of residents. Seventeen thousand people have been contacted and asked to answer an electronic questionnaire.

Hjúkrun 2023 - The Nursing conference - took place at the end of September at the Hilton Reykjavík Nordica. The conference was organized by the Association of Icelandic Nurses in collaboration with the University of Iceland, the University of Akureyri, Landspítali and the health care centers of the capital region.

A seminar on action policies was held in Húsavík on 9 and 10 March.
