The Icelandic Medicines Agency has issued a press release on the preliminary results of the Danish Medicines Agency´s investigation on bacterial contamination in the antibiotic Dicillin (marketed as Staklox in Iceland).

The number of cases received by the Icelandic Health Insurance has increased significantly in the last few years. When the number of main petitions is compared between 2018 and 2022 (the 2022 figures are calculated for a full year), it can be seen that there has been a significant increase in almost all policy areas.

The Icelandic government approved at its meeting this morning the bill by Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, on temporary support for wages for people working in Grindavík.

The Chief Epidemiologist was informed last night of an adult in Northern Iceland diagnosed with measles. The individual noticed a rash on April 17th and sought medical attention on April 18th. Measles was suspected and later confirmed. The person is now isolating at home.
