The White Cane Safety Day is held every year on 15 October. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the White Cane and the issues of interest to blind and visually impaired people.

Birna Íris Jónsdóttir has been appointed CEO of Digital Iceland.

It is now possible to apply for the renewal of a driver’s license for those aged 65 and older on Ísland.is. After completing the application, a medical certificate from a family doctor is submitted to the district commissioner, and the driving rights are renewed.

District commissioners were tasked with overseeing the digital implementation of the project, which enabled residents of Grindavík to sell their housing to the government under certain conditions. Applicants could subsequently fill out an application on Ísland.is.

The employees of Lands and forests did well in the national campaign Lífshlaupið, which has just ended. The institution was placed eighth in the category of institutions with 70-149 employees.
