Search Icelandic names

The name list contains all approved Icelandic names, as well as names rejected by the Personal Names Committee.

You can search by first initial, a part of a name or a whole name, and select category and/or status after a Personal Names Committee ruling.

Personal Names Committee rulings can be seen in the list, red means rejected, blue is approved.

If the name you are looking for is not on the list, you can apply to the Personal Names Committee for approval.
