Retraining Teachers at Upper Secondary Level - SEF
Grant types
SEF offers two types of grants:
Conference and Guest Lecture Grants
Conferences: Professional associations may apply for funding for 1–2 members to attend a conference or course abroad. Principals may also nominate 1–2 teachers for the same purpose. The grant amount is ISK 300,000 per participant.
Guest Lectures: Professional associations of teachers may apply for funding to host a guest lecture. The maximum grant is ISK 100,000.
Applications for conference and guest lecture grants are submitted in the autumn.
Summer Course Grants
SEF supports and may also organize shorter or longer continuing education courses for upper secondary teachers, such as field studies integrated with teaching, which take place during the school year and may span a full academic year.
Professional associations may apply for funding to hold subject-specific summer courses, and upper secondary schools may apply for funding to organize courses for their own teachers.
Applications for summer course grants are submitted in the spring.
