The European Council summit will take place on 16 and 17 May 2023 in Harpa, Reykjavík.

Closed areas and restrictions - Map

The roads in the city centre of Reykjavík will be partially closed to all public motor traffic from 15 May at 23:00 until 17 May at 18:00.

The area closest to Harpa will be closed to the public during the meeting.

Significant traffic delays may be expected in the capital area and on roads connecting Keflavík airport to Reykjavík on these days, but the greatest impact can be expected on 16 and 17 May while the police escort the summit guests from airports to the city centre of Reykjavík.

Electric scooter rentals will not be operational within the area while it is closed to motor traffic.

Flights of private drones will be completely prohibited in the city centre of Reykjavík, around airports and along Reykjanesbraut from 15 May at 08:00 until 18 May at 12:00.
