Ordering a sign language interpreter service

Remote interpretation

Remote interpretation is done through teleconferencing equipment, when sign language interpreters are connected to one or more parties through a webcam and microphone.

  • Remote interpretation is different from Video Remote Interpreting and must be ordered in advance through the Ísland.is application system.

  • If ÍTM speaking individuals are only communicating with one Icelandic speaking person they can access remote interpretation through the SHH Video Remote Interpreting app.

  • In case of online conferencing with many individuals participating or direct streaming, you must order an interpreter at the Centre for Communication using this email: tulkur@shh.is
