Temporary Drone Flight Ban over Reykjanesbær from September 4th to 6th 2026

At the request of the Chief of Police for the Suðurnes District, all drone operations will be prohibited within a designated area over Reykjanesbær.
The drone flight ban is in effect from 12:00 on Friday, September 4th 2026 until 08:00 on Sunday, September 6th 2026.
The drone flight ban applies at all altitudes within the designated restricted area outlined in yellow on the attached map.

The drone flight ban has been imposed for safety reasons due to the large number of people expected in the area during the Ljósanótt 2026 cultural festival.
Exemptions: Drone operations are only permitted with special authorization from the Chief of Police for the Suðurnes District. Applications for an exemption should be sent to uav.sudurnes@logreglan.is.
The restriction has been imposed pursuant to Article 3(d) of Regulation No. 1360/2024.
