Icelandic Transport Authority

New Digital Services for the Maritime Sector

1st September 2026

The Icelandic Transport Authority has launched new digital services that allow vessel owners and seafarers to access important information about their affairs through Ísland.is.

Owners of ships and boats can now view information about their vessels under “Assets” on My Pages. The service provides access to vessel registration details, technical information, and the validity periods of key vessel certificates.

Seafarers can also access information about themselves on My Pages under “Licences”. There they can view details of valid certificates of competency, examinations, education and training, exemptions, seafarers’ record books, and registered sea service days and sailing time.

With these new services, information previously available only through Skútan, the vessel registry and the crew registration system is now accessible through My Pages on Ísland.is. This gives vessel owners and seafarers a better overview of their own records, makes it easier to monitor their information, and simplifies access to services provided by the Icelandic Transport Authority.
