EASA invites feedback on the simplification of aviation regulations

16th December 2025

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has launched a Rule Simplification Programme.

The Rule Simplification Programme aims to modernise and simplify the regulatory framework in the aviation field, without compromising stringent aviation safety requirements. The programme also seeks to support innovation and competitiveness in aviation.

A key element of the programme is to gather input from stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and prioritise actions that contribute to a simpler and more efficient regulatory environment.

To this end, EASA has launched an online survey, which can be accessed here.

The purpose of the survey is to collect feedback on challenges within the current regulatory framework and proposals for simplification. It covers, among other things:

  • key regulatory areas and rules,

  • provisions that would benefit from clearer implementation,

  • proposals for improvements to regulations, processes or oversight,

  • expected benefits, such as enhanced safety, efficiency or innovation.

The Icelandic Transport Authority encourages all aviation stakeholders to participate and to share the survey as widely as possible within the aviation community in order to ensure broad participation.

The survey will remain open until the end of 2025. Stakeholder knowledge and engagement are essential in shaping a regulatory environment that is both safe and effective.

The Icelandic Transport Authority thanks stakeholders for their continued cooperation in strengthening aviation safety.
