The area in question is marked with blue and red shading on the map above and is bounded by Hringbraut to the south and Snorrabraut to the west.

The blue area is closed from 07:00 to 15:00 on August 23, 2025, due to the Reykjavík Marathon.

The red area is closed from 07:00 on August 23, 2025, until 06:00 on August 24, 2025, due to Culture Night.

All drone flights are prohibited in these areas during these periods, except with special permission from the Chief of Police of the Reykjavík Metropolitan Area.

Requests for exemption should be sent to the Reykjavík Metropolitan Police via email to lmde@lrh.is.

The drone ban is established on the basis of Article 3(d) of Regulation 1360/2024.
