Courses for flight examiners in 2026

In 2026 The Icelandic Transport Authority will host examiner standardisation courses for flight examiners on multi-crew aircraft (TRE/SFE/CRE) on the 12th of March and the 14th of October. A course for single-pilot aircraft examiners (FE) will be held on the 5th of March.
The courses will be held at the Icelandic Transport Authority premises, Ármúli 2, from 09:00 to 16:00.
A prerequisite for the renewal or extension of examiner privileges is that the applicant has attended an examiner refresher course within the past 12 months.
Please send your registration by email to fcl@icetra.is no later than two weeks before the scheduled course date. The maximum number of participants per course is 20. The Icelandic Transport Authority reserves the right to prioritize participants based on the validity period of their examiner privileges if more than 20 registrations are received.
When registering, please include the participant’s name, licence number, email address, and the name of the operator (if applicable).
Participants are kindly asked to bring a laptop to the course, if possible.
The course fee is in accordance with the current fee schedule of the Icelandic Transport Authority. Refreshments will be provided during the course.
