This morning, employees of the port State control detained the container shipping vessel Vera D (IMO 9290177) flying the flag of Portugal, following an incident that occurred yesterday near the island Akurey.

The ship will remain in detention until the ship's classification society and insurance company have inspected the damage and subsequently, a decision will be made on what to do.

Updated 25/9/2023: The detention has been lifted and Vera D is on its way to the Netherlands.
