The Icelandic Transport Authority handles the administration of aviation, maritime and ports, traffic and roads in Iceland. The Authority performs oversight, including various safety audits, certifications and licensing of Icelandic companies operating in all transport sectors. Among the projects are communication with international organisations on transport safety, but international oversight and the results of foreign audits of the administration in aviation and maritime matters can have a direct impact on the competitiveness of Icelandic companies operating in an international environment.
