The children’s room in the Emergency Department recently received a generous gift when Páll Orri Jóhannsson donated a 50-inch smart TV.

Páll Orri had previously been a patient at Akureyri Hospital. During his time in the children’s room, he felt that the television did not quite meet the standards children might expect for entertainment—or, as he put it himself, it was “totally rubbish”. He therefore decided to do something about it and arrived at the Emergency Department with a brand-new 50-inch smart TV for the children’s room.

The new television can connect to a phone, allowing content to be streamed directly to the screen. It will undoubtedly be appreciated by children spending time in the room and help them pass the time more easily.

The Emergency Department staff warmly thank Páll Orri for his generous gift and the kindness behind it.
