Veltek - future opportunities in health and welfare technology

Veltek, the Nordic health and welfare technology cluster, held a successful meeting on Wednesday 13 November under the heading “Where are the opportunities?”. The meeting was well attended by the cluster’s stakeholders and guests who contributed to a constructive discussion about the future of services and the possible implementation of health and welfare solutions.
At the meeting, the history of Veltek was reviewed, highlighting how the cluster serves as a platform for networking and collaboration, both domestically and internationally. The cluster aims to promote innovation and improve access to solutions in health and welfare services.

Björg S. Anna Þórðardóttir, researcher at Oslo Met University in Norway and the University of Akureyri
Vision for Hátindur 60+
The project manager of Hátindur 60+ gave a presentation emphasizing new approaches in service adaptations for the elderly in Fjallabyggð. The presentation highlighted how the project focuses on improving services for senior citizens through innovative solutions and increased emphasis on collaboration and service integration.
The project Integrated Health & Care by the Nordic Welfare Center was also introduced, emphasizing the integration of social and health services across borders. Additionally, participation in a European collaborative project with Sweden and Ireland was discussed, opening doors to further international cooperation and development.
The Importance of Consultation and Collaboration
The meeting sparked lively discussions in workshops, focusing on service changes, solution-oriented thinking, and future plans for implementing new solutions. Participants stressed the importance of hosting regular meetings like those organized by Veltek to strengthen collaboration and create new opportunities.
