Valdís Ösp completes specialist training in emergency nursing

Valdís Ösp Jónsdóttir, a nurse in the Emergency Department at Akureyri Hospital, completed her specialist training in emergency nursing in June 2026 and has been granted a specialist licence in the field.
The specialist licence recognises Valdís’s extensive education, experience and specialist expertise in emergency nursing. She is one of two nurses holding a specialist licence in emergency nursing currently working in SAk’s Emergency Department, and the third at the hospital overall.
“This is an important milestone for me, both professionally and personally. I hope that my further specialisation will benefit both patients and colleagues and contribute to the continued development of emergency nursing.”
