As with other healthcare institutions, staffing has been a major challenge for the Akureyri Hospital. The “Come join us!” campaign, which aimed to promote SAk as an attractive workplace and to give insight into the work of nurses and midwives at the Akureyri Hospital, has been successfully implemented. “It is clear that many people were interested in working with us this summer, although several positions have yet to be filled. The situation for the summer is therefore somewhat better now than last year,” says Kristjana Kristjánsdóttir, Head of Human Resources Department. The aim is to complete the summer recruitment by the end of April.

“It is our goal to make SAk a progressive and attractive workplace. Human resources are important and our focus will continue to be to nurture our staff and management, working hard to attract staff with the continuation of our “Come join us!” campaign. Hopefully, this will help us achieve our goal,” says Kristjana.
